A skillful blend of dance, theatre, martial arts, video and live sound, Epilogos is a fable about crowd manipulation techniques. How do power systems and the media manage to hold up a reality-distorting mirror? How can we stir and engage the passions of the audience? These questions form the underlying theme of Epilogos, which focuses on the catalyst character of “the orator,” around whom the dance unfolds in all directions. An ingenious array of biomechanical sensors has the ability to affect the entire performance environment and the dancers’ movements. With this fifth supercharged creation for his eloquently-named company, Radical System Art, Shay Kuebler hits it out of the park.
Shay was born in 1984 and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. He began his artistic development at the age of 5 with dramatic arts at Stage Polaris Theatre Academy, and with martial arts in Shito-Ryu Karate.
