Each year, Danse Danse supports artists by making rehearsal spaces available, thereby allowing them to deepen several aspects of their creative work. Choreographer José Navas, will be in residence in Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier at Place des Arts from April 12 to 16, 2021.
This residency represents a first period of research that will nourish the solo show which José Navas is currently working on. The opportunity to discover the solos through the lens and in collaboration with a filmmaker, will allow to create a video dance and at the same time imagine the show on stage in a more frontal reality.
The project has the working title Love Song to Bill. From Bach, Billie Holiday and other short pieces, Navas wants to deepen into what he had been doing for his last shows: dancing on an open space with nothing else than movement, music and space.
You will have the opportunity to see this new creation in one of the next seasons of Danse Danse.
