Nubian Néné is a well-versed dancer/choreographer who finds inspiration weaving the street/ club dances she’s practiced for over 20 years to create her unique style and approach. Her ability to expand into a producer, a creative director, a curator, and a teacher, makes her an asset to any project. Her dance company A Lady in the House is created in 2013 and has presented a dozen of pieces for festivals such as LOHH, Harlem Stage, & INSITU. She’s the founder of Waack Bazaar, a festival dedicated to the Waacking & House cultures, and Glasses & Laces, a blog space to express and challenge the status quo. Most recently, she tours with the BBOYIZM DANCE COMPANY as a principal dancer in the piece IN MY BODY. Nubian Néné is inspired by multidisciplinary artists, her obsession with visual art is pushing her to develop a new work identity, bridging her performative and visual artistry, and bringing it to new heights.
