Thousands of fans around the world eagerly await each new work by Hofesh Shechter. In just a few years, the UK-based choreographer and composer has become known for highly physical dance backed by atmospheric musical scores, and his Montreal engagement is one of the season’s must-see shows. Hofesh rocks.

A driving force in the new wave of contemporary dance, Shechter chose to settle in London, a city as vibrant and diverse as his performers. In 2008, he founded his own company, which has since achieved international recognition with such creations as In your rooms, Uprising and Political Mother. In his latest work, Shechter returns to live music, which he composed himself. On stage, dancers and musicians form a tribe united in their struggle against intense blasts of sound and movement. Powerful, immediate emotion is one of Shechter’s trademarks in his ongoing investigation of the mysteries of the human experience. One of the few contemporary choreographers who are comfortable working with large ensembles, Shechter communicates a creativity that knows no bounds.

Tickets start at $39.00
