The International Festival of Films on Art (FIFA) returns for its 44th edition in Montréal and Québec City from March 12 to 22, 2026, in theatres, and from March 20 to 29, 2026, online on ARTS.FILM, offering an exceptional platform for artistic creation through the lens of cinema.
Artists, movements, territories, histories: this edition promises a rich and diverse lineup featuring nearly 178 titles from 52 countries, including 60 Canadian films, alongside international and national competitions and a host of world premieres. This year, FIFA explores a wide range of genres—documentary, fiction, performance, visual arts, music, dance, and architecture. The spotlight is on works that question reality, celebrate creativity, and build bridges between artistic practices and today’s pressing issues.
Once again, dance holds a prominent place in the program during La Nuit de la danse, with dedicated screenings where the body and movement become both language and cinematic material.
Danse Danse is pleased to continue its partnership with FIFA for this new edition.
La Nuit de la danse is a must-attend event at FIFA, offering a true screening marathon that transforms a single evening into an immersive cinematic experience devoted to dance and movement. In 2026, the event continues to highlight the ways in which the body becomes language, a site of friction, and a grounding force through a program where choreographed gestures, filmed performances, and hybrid explorations echo and respond to one another on screen.
For this 44th edition, La Nuit de la danse brings together works by creators from here and abroad, including Marlene Millar, Chélanie Beaudin-Quintin, Oleg Jiliba, Alain Fleischer, Mary-Lee Brunet, Damien Bourletsis, Andrew Margetson, Alla Kovgan & Annie-B Parson, Ali Kenner Brodsky, and many others. These films explore movement in all its forms, from pure dance to more hybrid proposals that push the boundaries of the genre.
