Sharon Eyal was born in Jerusalem and is currently based in France. She danced with the Batsheva Dance Company from 1990 to 2008 and started choreographing within its Batsheva Dancers Create project. She served as Associate Artistic Director for Batsheva from 2003 to 2004, and as a House Choreographer for the company from 2005 to 2012, period during which she created 16 new works

In 2005 Eyal started to collaborate with Gai Behar on her own creations, the L-E-V company, and various other projects.
Since, 2009 she has created over 30 new works for dance companies around the world such as Bedroom Folk, Salt Womb, Feelings and Sara for the Nederland Dance Theatre; Half-Life for the Royal Swedish Ballet; Untitled Black and Autodance for GoteborgsOperans Danskompan, Sweden; Killer Pig and Corps de Walk for Carte Blanche Dance of Norway; Too Beaucoup for Hubbard Street Dance Chicago; Plafona for Tanzcompagnie Oldenburg, Germany; Soul Chain for tanzmainz/Staatstheater Mainz, Germany and more.
Eyal has collaborated with major names outside of the world of traditional dance such as Dior for their Spring Summer 2019 Fashion show, and The National and Mike Milles where she participated in 2 music videos for their songs "Hairpin Turns" and "Hey Rosie," as well as in a live performance for their international tour's opening show at L'Olympia in Paris.
In 2013 Eyal launched L-E-V. Their repertoire consists of 6 creations so far. L-E-V's shows are co-produced with some of the world's leading dance venues such as Sadler’s Wells in London, Julidans in Amsterdam, the Montpellier Danse Festival, GROS Culture Percentage/Dance Festival STEPS, Theater Freiburg, the Banff Centre in Canada, Carolina Performing Arts in North Carolina, USA, and TorinoDanza in Italy.
In the 8 years since L-E-V was founded, the company has had more than 200 performances in some of the world's most prestigious venues such as The Joyce Theatre in New York, Jacob's Pillow in Becket, Massachusetts, Sadler's Wells in London, and the Edinburgh International Festival.
