The multidisciplinary presenter Place des Arts and the contemporary dance presenter Danse Danse will pursue their partnership in 2012-2013 in order to increase access to high calibre dance pieces and to intensify their initiatives to support the creation of new works at Cinquième Salle in PDA. Their association combines dance expertise with a performance space dedicated to multiple artistic expression, offering a recurrent program that raises the profile of contemporary dance in the heart of the Quartier des spectacles and expands the audience for this art form in Montreal. Their many concrete gestures of support for the creation of new works include creative residencies and technical residencies, the cornerstone for the creation of new choreography, and coproductions.
Danse Danse and Place des Arts have also joined forces to produce the new work of RUBBERBANDance Group, quotient empirique, performing in the 2013-2014 season.
The Danse Danse series and the Segal Centre for Performing Arts have established since 2010 a partnership for the Choreographers-in-residence Program.. Each residency will include a public presentation of a new work still in development, followed by a talkback session with the audience. The program's mission is to support the development of contemporary dance while bringing the public into the artistic process new work. Together, Danse Danse and the Segal Centre are ensuring the continued growth and vitality of this dynamic art form.
